The Journey of Transformation Leads to a Manifestation of the Supernatural

When Heaven Invades Earth (Chapters 1-3):
·         The normal Christian experience should be one of miracles and the supernatural because of a life lived out of desperation and expectation. It isn't that God does not “will” miracles, signs and wonders in the western world rather it is that we don’t EXPECT them. We are called to live out the powerful gospel.
·         Satan doesn't have any authority the only things he can triumph over are things that we allow. This is done by agreeing with lies, once we agree with the lies we give away our power in that area and allow Satan to come in to steal, kill and destroy.
·         Repentance is much more than being sorry for something you have done, it is transformation in that area of your life.

Thoughts….What do I do with this now?
The above points are calls to go higher. Jesus modeled each of these things throughout His life and overcame. He has called us to be overcomers. It starts with true repentance that results in transformation. Some questions to ask yourself are: What struggles or sins in my life have I wanted to work on and am I seeing the fruit of transformation in those areas? If not, are there ways that I have been empowering Satan to steal, kill and destroy?  What lies do I need to break agreement with and live out of a place of powerful knowledge that I am an heir of the King?
Once we begin to see transformation in our lives we begin to feel freer and more powerful. It is in this place that we are called to live, and having experienced the transformational radical freedom that Jesus bought for us it is easier to begin to expect it as a normal way of life for us and those around us. If we start here with ourselves it might be easier to expect the transformation of the manifestation of the supernatural gifts to play out in our everyday lives. Too often we want to start there (and there is a place for faith), but Jesus models it the other way around. He was tempted in the desert by Satan and overcame (did not let him steal what was His or take the shortcut) before he performed any miracles.

Though I agree that we don’t see as many miracles in the western world because we don’t expect them to happen I also think there is more to it than that. We don’t allow ourselves time to process and walk out our personal relationship with God. If we had a relationship like God and Jesus did we would have no problems with believing (and seeing) the supernatural. The challenge in this is to look inward and begin to discover who we are and who the God we serve is, when we do  that we too will be able to say that we only  do what we see the Father doing.
