A Power to Reckoned With

I was taken up into the heavens and as I interceded over the nation of Iraq and those being persecuted. My heart cried out for the injustices being done against the believers and my heart was hurting for those who  know not what they are doing.  I began to hear the weeping of heaven and  interceding  and as our intercessions became one I came to this place where I was flying below all of what appeared to be post office boxes positioned over the nations of the world. I looked down and around my neck was a chain with a bunch of keys, but what struck me was that they were modern keys, not pretty old skeleton keys which are usually present in my visions.  I reached down and found the key that opened the box that was for the box over the country of Iraq. I opened it and out poured the pent up prayers and intercessions of the saints of what I felt were centuries. As they were released I felt a release in the Spirit and saw an outpouring of comfort and peace fall upon the believers. There was a new resolve and they felt as if they were no longer alone, they felt the power of the prayers of their ancestors and those who have faithfully prayed into that region of the world.  It was a powerful moment of intercession.

As I thought and talked with the Jesus about the encounter over the next few days I was kept coming back to the part about the keys and the PO boxes. I was intrigued at the modern state of both and the Lord began to speak to me about this generation of intercessors. It was what I like to call a “For such a time as this” moment. He said to me, “there are these deposit boxes (for that is what they were) all over nations, people groups, individuals, and they hold the prayers, promises, intercessions, tears, prophetic words, declarations that have been spoken and are waiting to be released. The time is coming and is even upon us for the opening of many of these deposit boxes and I am calling upon a new generation of intercessors that are willing to join with the intercession of heaven in declaring justice and a release. I am looking for servants who are willing to be vessels of release while acknowledging that they are merely in the right place at the right time in history to see the culmination of the release of the toil of thousands and millions before them.”  The Lord is calling this generation back to a place of radical intercession, it is a key to Justice that the church is missing and a power the world has not seen the likes of yet. Who is in?

The holiness of God brings a release of strongholds

In an encounter, I saw the Hollywood sign and there was a bright bolt of lightning from heaven that hit the second "L" in the sign. It read Holy wood. There was a door where the second L used to be. I saw it open and blinding light shone forth. A huge lion with eyes of fire stepped out of the door. He roared over the city and it reverberated through all of Los Angeles. The air became frozen, like jello, and I saw stronghold literally breaking, crumbling and falling to the ground.
The Lord began to speak to me about the power of holiness. The holiness that came forth from the mouth of the lion was an audible reverberation of the love in His heart. Love made audible is a manifestation of holiness and no stronghold can stand in it's presence. This vocalization brought radical freedom.
There is a release over Hollywood and Los Angeles. The heart of God has been captivated by this region.  The challenge of the impossible and the dreamers that have been crying out for the impossible has captured heaven's heart and a move of holiness that reverberates the heart of heaven is about to break forth. Strongholds that have stood for generations will crumble without a fight. It will be a season of  the realization of dreams and the elevation of the dreamers.

Signs and Wonders

I was inspired by this quote from Bill Johnson's book When Heaven Invades Earth. “signs have a purpose. They are not an end in themselves. They point to a greater reality. When we exit a building we don’t go though the exit sign. The sign is real but it points to a reality greater than itself."
Throughout my life I have constantly found myself with believers that are taught that the gifts of the Holy Spirit no longer exist, but they are hungry for them. One of the arguments I have heard time and time again is that they are not orderly and fit within the confines of the scripture and therefore signs and wonders can lead people astray. I love this idea that we do not exit through the exit sign, but through the door. The sign points the way to the door. It is the enemy's tactic to keep us from utilizing the powerful tool of signs and wonders to point people to Christ.
I learned long ago that the power of God can be messy but it can also be fun. God does have a sense of humor and loves to love us and reveal Himself to us in ways that are personal and fun. Since I am on the topic of signs... I will never forget the first time I saw God as personal and humorous. I was 9 years old and up to now I had always associated God as distant and loving but serious. My little sister (5 years old) sat on the edge of my parent's bed asking me where the hole was that the angels had gone through. She proceeded to tell us about how the previous night she had seen 2 angels. One had flown over to my mom's pillow and stuck a black sign with green letters on it. They had both disappeared through the ceiling. While her seeing the angels was amazing and fun my mom was more concerned about the sign the angel put on her pillow. She later told us that she had asked God the night before for a sign (for something she had been praying for). God in His sense of humor gave her a literal sign. When she asked what the sign said my little sister responded, "I don't know...I don't know how to read." God went out of His way to honor her request, but with a little sense of humor.
Signs and wonders are the key to unlocking people's hearts. There are so many that are desperate to know that they are important and matter. We not only do disservice to Jesus and what He did on the cross but also to the people we come into contact with when we do not allow the use of signs, wonders and miracles to point the way to the "door" Jesus Christ.

When Heaven Invades Earth Summary

Ok...So I got a bit behind on summarizing the key points of  the chapters I have been reading, so here they ALL are. It is crude and unfinished, but they are the key ideas that stood out to me. Though this is not the first time I have read this book, I have received new wisdom and revelation.

Chapter 10
“Pennies are not counterfeited because they are not worth the effort. In the same way, the devil only works to copy or distort those things in the Christian life that have the greatest potential  effect.”
The   devil sees the potential of powerful Christians that operate in the fullness of the kingdom. Lies that he has infiltrate into the church, and we believe, are things like; I am not righteous enough or I don’t have enough character. I am not ready. Notice the theme, the focus is on us not God. By taking the focus off our relationship and the fact that we are heirs to the kingdom of heaven with full privileges now, we have become caught up in focusing on who we are not and become powerless in the process.
(Focusing on what we are not disempowers us and keeps us from being the powerful people Christ died for)
Chapter 11
Miracles reveal the nature of God. Demonstrations of power are redemptive in nature.  Power exposes and forces people to make a decision. A power has an inherent ability to humble and lead to repentance. “faith moves heaven so that heaven will move earth.” Miracles remove influence of hell and establishes the presence of God. Without power, we rob God of the glory He is due. It isn’t a complete message without the demonstration of power. Many fear signs and wonders  thinking they will be misled. “signs have a purpose. They are not an end in themselves. They point to a greater reality. When we exit a building we don’t go though the exit sign. The sign is real but it points to a reality greater than itself.
Chapter 12
Encountering Godà demonstrations of power that break yokes. He is creative and unexpected and the supernatural requires taking risks. Our focus needs to remain on the God of power not the power of God.
Chapter 13
Focusing on our unworthiness denies  Christ of the honor of what was accomplished on the cross and keeps us from participating in the power given to us through it. “It is no longer a question of heaven or hell. It’s only a question of how much of hell’s thinking will allow into this heavenly mind of mine. Our agreement with lies can delay or avert promises.
Chapter 14
Spiritual warfare is real, but we should be approaching it from the offensive not the defensive. We have already won.  “Satan reveals his plans to put us on the defensive.” When we react with fear we are responding in the defensive.  When we refuse to fear our victory is complete. It sounds so simple. When we look at it from this perspective all we need to do to win EVERY battle is refuse to fall prey to fear and stand firm and confidant in who we are because of who Christ is.
Chapter 15
Revival and transformation will be recognized by those that need it the most. I love how this chapter points out how it was the tax collectors, prostitutes, demon possessed and outcasts that recognized Jesus as the messiah while the religious scholars missed Him. If we are looking for true signs of revival we should be seeing healing and restoration coming to the most needy. By not holding onto our own idea of what revival or transformation will look like we can help ourselves not miss it.
“Many revivalist had such significant breakthroughs that they  viewed the Lord’s return to be at hand. They failed to equip the Church to do what they were gifted to do. As a result they touched multitudes instead of nations and generations.
Chapter 16
We should be the leaven in world. Our lives should infect all those around us and bring us into places where we can change systems and nations. Daniel and Joseph are two people in scripture that were leaven. Though both had the right to be bitter they chose to be loyal and the “better person” in the situation they found themselves in and they both transformed kingdoms. I does not always mean high positions and we need to be reminded that the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is the servant.
Chapter 17

“Make room in your life for the risk takers that don’t bat a thousand. They will inspire you to the greatness available in serving a great God.” Christ is returning for a pure and spotless bride who knows who she is and is ready for her bridegroom.  He is not coming for a bride that is focused on what she is not. When we begin to focus on Christ and who we are in Him and operate in that power we will see a transformation in the Church that will prompt the return of Christ to the earth.

When Heaven Invades Earth Chapters 7-9

·         Apart from the empowerment of the Holy Spirit we are only good religious people who try to do right in the world. (Chapter 7).

“Religion idolizes concepts and avoids personal experience. It works to get us to worship past accomplishments at the expense of any present activity of God in our life.” The Holy Spirit and His works in our lives are the spirit of Christ and we are called to live out of a place of that empowerment. Religion is the anti-christ spirit because it seeks to separate the empowerment from knowledge which is safe and known.  I was struck by this concept: If I am to remove the Holy Spirit and His works from my life would my life still function? The answer is Yes. I know this chapter was discussing it at the level of the Church, but what about in our own personal lives. I want to get to  a place that without the Holy Spirit my life does not function.  When our churches become routine and follow formulas it is called religion, but what is it called when our lives become routine and we follow formulas (worship, read my bible, go to church…) and yet Christ and His empowerment are not integrated into our daily lives. It is easy to point a finger at the church and say, “you have it all wrong” but can we model it in our lives first? After all we make up the church.

·         God is bigger than what is written in scripture and the Holy Spirit is there to guide us on the wildest of adventures if we allow Him. (Chapter 8)

The Bible is full irreconcilable differences that we have a hard time getting our minds around. Ideas such as God being loving but hating Esau or despising  Able’s offering. “Yet this uncomfortable tension is designed to keep us honest and truly dependent on the Holy Spirit for understanding who God is and what He is saying to us through His book. “ I believe the same is true today and does not only apply to scripture. People often make the argument that miracles and wonders that are not listed in Bible cannot happen or when they do are not of God. However, Jesus told us that we would do greater things than He did so in my opinion that is a license for ANYTHING to happen. We need the Holy Spirit to help guide us and keep us honest and dependent in bringing these “greater” things to earth.

·         Doing the works of the Father (God) always start with His presence. (Chapter 9)

Jesus, even from a young age understood that he was only to do what He saw His father doing. That required listening and tuning His heart to the heart of His Father. We are called to do the same. People often wonder why they don’t see miracles or the supernatural in their lives, but  have they put in the groundwork and taught themselves how to love His presence, hear His voice and OBEY?  I love  how Bill Johnson points out, “His presence always reveals His heart.” It is a great reminder that there is personal sacrifice, discipline and devotion that is required to walk in the supernatural as a lifestyle. Good old fashioned prayer, study, reading about it in history and then actually laying on hands and doing it. I like the final practical application that we don’t often include, association. “If you want to be a giant killer, hang around other giant killers. It rubs off.” I want it to rub off on me.

Justice

I had a recent encounter with Jesus where I saw Him for the unique part  he played in the trinity. I was taken to the cross and as I looked into His eyes they were burning, roaring flames of fire and as I looked into them I saw the injustices of the entire world past, present and future. That is what he died for. He sits in heaven and weeps that we don't utilize the fullness of what He accomplished that day on Calvary.  I saw Him sitting on a line in heaven, it was the line between heaven and earth and he prays for us, weeps for us to cross that line and pull the justice of heaven to the earth.
My sister and her husband serve the Woodland Cree Nation in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada. For 2 years they have been doing foster care and taking in little ones that have no home and no one wants. They had one special little girl who is a long term foster kid who will never be returned to her parents. They have had her for almost 2 years and were trying to find a way to adopt her. She was suddenly and for no reason taken away a month and a half ago. She has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and  ADHD and requires constant attention and was thriving with Joylyn and Joel. After a week of back and forth with the office those in charge admitted they were in the wrong in taking her away and they would get her back after one more person signed off on the case. Well, 2 weeks later they not only said they wouldn't give her back but they took away their license to be foster parents. No reason given.
Today my sister got to see her little girl (almost 3 years old) for the first time in 2 months and she said, "she has gone from thriving to surviving. She is sick, back in diapers, doesn't talk at all and has no sparkle in her eyes." Where is the Justice?
How do we cross the line and call the justice of heaven, that Jesus paid for to earth? He paid for it and I believe that, but what is stopping the materialization of that justice in this situation? Jesus has a special place in His heart for the orphans and I believe that such injustice makes Him weep and His heart hurt even more. I am standing, believing that the justice of heaven will invade this situation. That all accusations and falsehoods will be broken and that Sabrina will come home to a family that loves her and wants her. Stand with me to see justice in this situation.

Faith, Prayer and Holy Spirit...Three Powerful Keys to Unlocking the Release of Heaven on Earth

·         “Unbelief is actually faith in something other than God.” (chapter 4)
Wow, that sounds a bit harsh, but when you take the time to think about this statement its power is revealed. God is the able to do anything and when we believe that it is considered faith, the type that brings the Kingdom of heaven to the earth. When we don’t believe it we are not believing that God is omnipotent  and therefore we are believing in something  else. This sounds so simple. Why can’t we just live out the simplicity of this statement? Sure faith comes out of relationship, hearing and responding but when we really break it down our lack of faith is really just our lack of belief in God being…well… God.
·         Prayer allows us to come into a place of faith, gives us perspective on problems and empowers us to act in radical obedience. (Chapter 5)
Prayer and intercession is a very special topic for me. It is the place where Holy Spirit taught me how to hear the heartbeat of heaven. I love prayer because it appears so innocent and yet has the power to transform the world. I have led many prayer/intercession groups in places that were hostile to the things of the kingdom and yet visions and words from God were not only experienced by people who say such things don’t exist but also they were accepted. I really loved Bill Johnson’s challenge to pray until you come into a place of faith and gain heaven’s perspective on the situation but rather than asking God to take care of the situation act out of a place of faith and command  “mountains to be moved.”  Prayer is  tool to gain heaven’s strategy and God’s heart but coupled with faith it is our battle plan to bring Heaven to earth in every situation.
·         It is impossible to see the Kingdom of heaven come to earth without knowing the Holy Spirit and experiencing His baptism. (Chapter 6)
The Holy Spirit is the great gift that Jesus left for us a gift that the prophets of the Old Testament could never have imagined. I love how this chapter points out that baptism of the Holy Spirit puts even the least of the new covenant believers ahead of the OT prophets. WOW!  So why don’t we act like it. A great point is made in this chapter that we should be so overflowing with the Holy Spirit that our mere presence brings an atmosphere of heaven that requires a response from those who come in contact with it (believer or non-believer).  “one baptism, many fillings. Why? We leak.” This was a great reminder to me that I am broken and if I am not seeing an overflow of HS in my life and those around me I need to look at where I am leaking and seek out ways to be refilled.

I love how these three chapters  gave us three important, no vital, ingredients to seeing heaven invade earth. Faith. Prayer. Holy Spirit. The three work together and yet they all have one thing in common, they are not a formula they are established out of relationship.
